Two simple recipes with few ingredients for making pork in a crockpot Cantonese style.
Ingredients for Cantonese Pork Dish:
1 1/2 lb pork steak 1/2" thick cut into strips
2 Tbsp oil
1 onion large, sliced
1 green pepper small cut into strips
1 4 oz mushroom, drained
1 8 oz tomato sauce can
3 Tbsp brown sugar
1 1/2 Tbsp vinegar
1 1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp worcestershire sauce.
Cooking Directions:
Brown pork in oil in skillet.
Drain on double paper towel.
Place pork strips and all remaining ingredients into the crock pot. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 Hours on medium.
Serve over fresh hot fluffy rice.
Crockpot Cantonese Pork Dinner - Recipe 2
Ingredients:
2 pounds pork steaks
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 onion, thinly sliced
1 (4.5 ounce) can mushrooms, drained
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons distilled white vinegar
1 1/2 teaspoons salt.
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce.
Crockpot Directions:
In a heavy skillet, heat oil over medium high heat.
Add pork strips and brown.
Drain off excess fat.
Place meat, onion, mushrooms, tomato sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, salt, and Worcestershire sauce in a slow cooker.
Cook on High for 4 hours, or on Low for 6 to 8 hours.
Serve hot.
